Starting a DC motor using a solar cell (2013-2015)
There is a phenomenon which can't be started by the solar array panel which can supply rated apparent power of an electric motor. Its cause is confirmed and a measure is inspected experimentally. A no load start electric current of a direct current motor was the amount which can be supplied by solar array panel, and an electric motor couldn't produce the situation which doesn't drive. So it was performed to produce the situation that I make the cranking torque of the electric motor big and don't start and to show the way to cancel its state.

Current Status
First (rotating armature type) machine Cryostat Experimental scene Pre-cool with liquid nitorogen Preparation for liquid helium pouring Test of first (rotating armature type) machine using NbTi wire was finished.
Second (rotating field type) machine Slip ling part Cooling test of second (rotating field type) machine was done.
First axial type oxide bulk supercunducting rotor type motor was fabricated.

Long Length MgB2 Superconducting Wire (2002-2004)
Annealing effects on structural and superconducting properties of various MgB2/Fe wires were investigated.
The transport properties in MgB2 wires were investigatedto pulsed magnetic field, and discussed their applicability to magnetically controlled superconducting switches.

Superconducting Power Switching Devices (1990-2001)
Purpose
R&D of switching device which operate at cryogenic temperature using superconductivity.
Results
Superconducting SwitchesWe fabricated Superconducting Switches which poerate in liquid helium at line frequency. Full-wave rectifying circuit and half-wave rectifier circuit were made using this device. Rectification was succeeded 50 A in 50 Hz and 25 A in 100 Hz.
Test facility under rotating environmentRotor for switchSwitches installed on the rotor We made test facility under rotating emvironment. The switching characteristics were compaired under 75 G with static environment.
Know-how to reduce switching energy has been obtained.

Purpose
R&D of 10 kVA four winding superconducting current limiting transformer using NbTi wire.
Results
Four winding transformer which has fault current limitting abilityWinding of Primary Main Solenoid10 kVA four winding superconducting current limiting transformer was fabricated.
Fabricated transformer was tested on load test, noload test and short circuit test.
Line constant which could utilize in grid calculation were obtained.

Attractive type Magneticd Levitation (1977-1979)
We have constructed a feedback control systyem with four feedback signarls: two (displacement x and current i) are neasyred durectly and the remaining two are observed by a state observer. The proposed feedpack signal has a small steady-state error and show very good response characteristics.
